Description
Small select parcels of our best Tannat, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were handpicked. Every bunch was hand checked on our sorting table to ensure only the best quality grapes are used for this Reserve Cuvee. Intense fresh fruit, raspberry and plums with black pepper and French oak, keeping the balance between the fruit and oak. Roundness, smooth tannins and large finish contributed for an excellent wine of long life.
History
Our small 'Boutique winery' keeps the same architecture like the beginning due to the advantages its offers to wine conservation. We keep the balance between fruit and oak being careful not to mask the delicate fruit aromas and flavour our terroir produces. With our strong aims to improve the quality since 2000 we receive the support of a winemaker consultant from New Zealand , Duncan Killiner, who gives his expert opinion on the way that Pizzorno develops its wines to be presented at the International markets. His son Francisco constructed the first winery in 1910. In 1987 his grandson, Carlos Pizzorno, started the reconversion of the vineyards, and in 1996 started the reconversion of the winery which is in its final stages. The Pizzorno family is the fourth generation to continue with the same love and respect for nature that started over a century ago. Not one element has been lost of that fine wine tradition, adapting it to the present day with the most advanced techniques for wine cultivation and production of its wines and in continuing search for excellence
