Description
Ripe black fruit flavors and a smoky component follow a very expressive nose of ash. The tannins are fine and balance the fruit nicely. Lush black fruit and smoke persists into the long finish.
History
Our small 'Boutique winery' keeps the same architecture like the beginning due to the advantages its offers to wine conservation. We keep the balance between fruit and oak being careful not to mask the delicate fruit aromas and flavour our terroir produces. With our strong aims to improve the quality since 2000 we receive the support of a winemaker consultant from New Zealand , Duncan Killiner, who gives his expert opinion on the way that Pizzorno develops its wines to be presented at the International markets. His son Francisco constructed the first winery in 1910. In 1987 his grandson, Carlos Pizzorno, started the reconversion of the vineyards, and in 1996 started the reconversion of the winery which is in its final stages. The Pizzorno family is the fourth generation to continue with the same love and respect for nature that started over a century ago. Not one element has been lost of that fine wine tradition, adapting it to the present day with the most advanced techniques for wine cultivation and production of its wines and in continuing search for excellence
